On Tuesday 6 October 2026, the Hotel Bahía in Santander hosted a new edition of El Diario Montañés Economic Forum. Our founding partner, Beatriz Bermejo, attended on behalf of BBM Abogados.
A forum focused on the self-employed
The keynote speaker was Lorenzo Amor, president of the National Federation of Self-Employed Workers’ Associations (ATA), with a talk entitled “Thinking of the small ones. Solutions for the real economy”.
The room brought together a broad representation of Cantabria’s economy and politics. The regional ministers for Industry and Employment, Eduardo Arasti, and for the Economy, Luis Ángel Agüeros, attended alongside business leaders from the region. The Mayor of Santander, Gema Igual, came to greet the speaker.
Beatriz shared the day with Lorenzo Amor and Ana Cabrero, president of ATA in Cantabria, among other guests. You can read the full report and photo gallery (in Spanish) at El Diario Montañés.
“At BBM Abogados we defend the interests of individuals and businesses in Santander and Cantabria with a close, rigorous and fully transparent approach. If you have doubts about your case, we help you see it clearly.”
Close to Cantabria’s self-employed
At BBM Abogados we have supported self-employed professionals and small businesses in Santander and across Cantabria since 1990: contracts, unpaid invoices, employment matters and, as the business grows, incorporating a company. That is why we follow forums like this one closely, where the real concerns of entrepreneurs are discussed.
If you are self-employed, you may find useful our page on employment advice for the self-employed or the work of our business lawyer.
