There are events that are essential in any region’s annual calendar, and the launch of the Anuario de Cantabria (Cantabria Yearbook) is one of them. This gala is an important social occasion not only for the event itself, but also because it brings together representatives from various sectors of society, such as politics, the economy, education, culture and sport. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the publication of an editorial work that sums up the year’s most notable events. Each edition of this yearbook, which already numbers 38, becomes a valuable collector’s piece, almost like an encyclopaedia.
In recent years, the launch of the yearbook has also included the presentation of the Cantabrian of the Year award, which has added even more excitement to the event.
During the gala, the most important events of the past year were reviewed, thought was given to the future, and the importance of journalism in our society was highlighted.
Surprises were also prepared for the occasion, such as the finale with the stand-up comedian Leo Harlem.
