The Anuario de Cantabria 2023 dressed up for the occasion on 14 March at the Palacio de Exposiciones in Santander, bringing together nearly 800 people on a night that stood out for its elegance, culture and recognition. This annual event, which celebrates and looks back over the region’s most significant moments, became a meeting point for prominent figures from a range of fields, including politics, the arts, the media and the business sector. The presence of representatives from leading companies added a vital component to the event, underlining the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors for the progress and wellbeing of Cantabria.
One of the most moving moments of the evening was the presentation of the «Cántabro del Año» (Cantabrian of the Year) award to Álvaro Pombo, a recognition that underlines his contribution to culture and his ties to Cantabria. The acclaimed writer, flanked by dignitaries and greeted by the unanimous applause of those present, symbolised the spirit of excellence and commitment that characterises this land.
